I train at home in a small flat and have thrown out more clever storage solutions than I care to admit. If it survives a year in 600 square feet with me, it earns the write-up.

How Dana judges

I judge household things on whether they survive being used the way people actually use them, which is harder than the way they are photographed. Temperature retention, leak resistance and load-bearing are testable claims and I check them against what owners report rather than what the listing promises. I weigh build quality and everyday practicality highest, because the thing that decides whether an object was worth buying is whether it is still in use in two years. I am unimpressed by capacity numbers that assume perfect packing, and by anything that has to be hand-washed to survive.
